Amex Platinum: Points for Paris

Let me start off by saying this isn't a sponsored post! But lowkey, it should be. I just booked a trip back to Paris and did it through points I've been accumulating through a lot of my purchases. I didn't get a travel card until 2016 when I was graduating college, because realistically, I couldn't travel much while I was in school. If I wasn't in class, I was working part-time or interning. But let me tell you, that getting this credit card has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Obviously I'm no credit card guru, but I can tell you how helpful this has been. First thing is first, let's intro the card and I'll share some details about it.

Card: American Express Platinum
5X Points of Flights booked with American Express Travel
5X Points on Prepaid Hotels booked with American Express Travel
1X Points for Each Dollar on Eligible Purchases
60,000 Points Welcome Offer if you spend $5,000 in purchases within your first 3 Months
Annual Fee: $550
Perfect For: The Frequent Traveler

Read more down below to see why this card was perfect for me and how that high annual fee was totally worth it with all the rewards and offers it comes with. I'll admit, I had to read through them before applying, but it didn't take long before I was convinced I needed it.
I know the $550 annual fee can scare most people away, but there was so much to consider when I applied for this card. I'll be honest, before this, I never had a credit card with an annual fee, but when you think of all the interest rates your credit card can have, this really isn't so bad. The American Express Platinum started out as a charge card, meaning it needs to be paid in full every month. This helped me learn how to be good with my money, only charge what I could afford to pay off that month, and really helped me behave when shopping. I broke down the benefits and what this card could give me:

$200 Airfare Credit. This included my seat upgrade and overweight baggage fees.
$200 Uber Credit. It's $15 per month but those Uber rides add up so this is already very helpful for me.
Waived TSA Pre-Check or Global Entry Application Fee (Can save you up to $100)
Access to the Global Lounge Collection at Airports all over the world

These benefits alone, not even including all the points and purchase rewards benefits that come with the card, had me sold on it. Since then, it's my main use for shopping, restaurants, booking travel and hotels, and my go-to card when I'm traveling since there are no foreign transaction fees.
What I have also loved as an American Express customer is the impeccable service I get 24/7. It is hands down the best customer service I have ever received and anytime I had an issue with unknown charges, my wallet being stolen, or an issue with a booking I try to make, they always make it so seamless and easy for me. It's such a comforting feeling knowing you're taken care of.
Once again, this is no way sponsored by American Express, I've just been getting questions about travel credit cards and this is my own suggestion based on my own personal experiences. If you're interested in applying for the card, recommended for those who travel often with at least a credit score of 700, please use my referral link and click here to apply!

The $550 Annual Fee is paid once for the year, not separated into multiple payments throughout the year.

It is a charge card so you must pay it off in full every month. After American Express sees your record with on-time payments, you can get approved to pay over time.

I mainly use this for shopping and travel purchases. Smaller items will be charged on my American Express Everyday Card.

The Lounge Access is one of my favorite perks on the card.

Trending: Wild Thing

Animal prints are back more than ever and I'll have to admit, I was pretty hesitant about getting back into it. But I've learned that all it takes is finding the right print with the right amount to have a look that stands out amongst a crowd all trying to hop on that trend. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I'm pretty #PLAINJANE when it comes to the way I dress. I hesitate on trends, not that quick to jump on the bandwagon with full force, but after some time and research, I've found the pieces that I love to be a part of the animal print movement and hope that you guys love these pieces too!

Wearing the House of Harlow "Lawrence" Sweater from Revolve and Realisation Par "Naomi" Skirt in the above images. Styled with Céline and Vrai & Oro accessories and sweater paired with Mother denim.

With the right accessories, right graphic tee, this print is so perfect to rock for fall. Think pairing them with leather jackets, your staple black boots, gold jewelry, etc. Shop my "wild" picks below! Be sure to follow me on Pinterest where I pin and share all my fashion and styling incase you need to jumpstart some outfit ideas on how to rock this trend!

Home Again: The Quin Hotel

Back at one of my favorites in the city, I enjoyed another lovely summer stay at The Quin. It never gets old that despite being in such a busy part of Manhattan, I love being perched up top and seeing the busy city from this beautiful terrace, my own little oasis. No matter how many times I've been here, the service, the kindness, the food, it's always been wonderful. And when you live in such a busy and hectic city, I love being able to enjoy it with a little bit of quiet from a hotel rooftop.

Marco and I stayed in the Junior Terrace Suite, a studio style corner suite with a a 400 square-foot terrace. The suite has a beautiful living area and dining table for three. The king size bed always gives me a great night's sleep and probably my favorite shower ever. The bathroom is everything my little interior designer heart desires. An ideal escape for two, there's also a pull out sofa bed as well. To book this suite, click here.

A Special Thank You to The Quin Hotel for the Wonderful Stay

Céline Micro Belt Bag | Reebonz

With the end of the Phoebe Philo era at Céline, I just knew I needed to get my hands on a few more items before the anticipated change. You guys know how much I love my Reebonz family, and thanks to them, I have finally added the Micro Belt Bag to my collection! After about over a month with the bag, I'm so happy to report that I have been loving this so much more than I imagined! Phoebe Philo has such a unique aesthetic, simple yet elegant, unique yet practical. Her designs are so different from other brands and it's why Céline has been my favorite designer for years.

The Belt Bag comes in three sizes, nano, micro, and small. This being the middle size and perfect for my frame. I'm about 5'7" and love the way this sits at the waist when I wear it with the shoulder straps, or the way it sits on my arm when I wear it with the top handle.
The Micro Belt Bag is in grained calfskin with a removable strap with a 21 inch drop. The Flap closure has a metallic piece as well as a zipped closure for extra security. Despite my concern that this would make the bag difficult to get in and out of, it actually hasn't been a problem at all. Living in NYC, a secure bag is always a great thing to have. Check out all the ways that I've already styled this bag below!
Reebonz has an amazing selection of designer goods, and it's where a few pieces from my collection are from! If you've been following me for a while, this shouldn't be the first time you've heard me talk about them. Some of you guys have even shared with me your purchases and it makes me so happy! Be sure to check out their website and then you can even take 15% off with my code "ALYSSA15" where coupons apply, because who doesn't love saving a few extra dollars when it comes to luxury purchases?

All pieces are guaranteed authentic with the comfort of a return should you have any issues. Personally, I've never had a problem and always find myself checking out their selection every once in a while. They update their inventory pretty often so I'd check back if nothing catches your eye right now! I've put together a selection of bags that I personally love and think you guys will too. Only a few of the pieces below allow coupons, but check out the price differences already on a few of these pieces! Definitely worth checking out and seeing if you can get your new bag at a great price. Reebonz also has Affirm where you can essentially get your bag and pay with monthly installments depending on what you can commit to!

I've also put together a selection of Céline bags specifically because with Phoebe Philo's time at Céline coming to an end, and Hedi taking a completely different approach to the brand, I strongly recommend going for that Céline bag that you've been eyeing because there are rumors that a couple will be discontinued once Hedi's collection begins to trickle into the stores. Happy shopping!
