The Vacation Maxi

I just love a good maxi dress, and when it comes to packing for vacations, it becomes a necessity. When you're in those tropical climates, these pieces will become your best friend, keeping covered while keeping cool, not to mention how easy it is to go from a day-to-night look. I absolutely love maxi dresses with a plunging neckline and a cinched waist, a silhouette that can still show off some shape but not too much. Shop this look below!

The Quin Hotel

Although I've lived in New York since I was 8 years old, and hopping on the train to Manhattan on a regular basis, there's just something special about actually staying in a New York City hotel and being directly above those city streets. Possibly one of the best stays I've ever had was at The Quin hotel, a 5 Star property that absolutely exceeded my expectations. From the suite to the hospitality of the staff, every little detail was perfection. Continue reading to get a glimpse of my stay at this luxurious space.

Our check-in was warm and welcoming. We were upgraded to the top floor where we stayed in the Terrace Junior Suite providing Marco and I with a stunning view of the city that took our breath away. Being at the top floor is definitely ideal for hotel stays, it just gives you an over-the-top experience and it just made our stay just that much more memorable.

The materials of the room and the furnishings were all beautiful. Having studied interior design, I'm a sucker for attention to detail, and The Quin went above and beyond. The large windows brightened up the room and to be in a space in NYC that doesn't feel cramped is all one could ever really ask for. With fresh flowers on the tables, fashion books decorating as accents, comfortable lounge chair and sofa, the living room area was perfect for hanging out at the hotel between walks to the park or shopping down 5th Avenue. You know I loved just being down the street from Bergdorf Goodman!

Shortly after checking in, we were welcomed with a cheese platter and a bottle of Prosecco to our room. And this was just the beginning of the impeccable service we would enjoy over the weekend. It's genuine kindness of the staff that make a hotel stay. Nothing during the weekend was stressful or problematic and the staff made sure of it from room service, to cleaning the room, to turn-down before bed.

Perhaps one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever laid in, the king size bed of the suite is one that I would not mind being in all day long. The luxurious linens by Sferra and the coziness of the DUX Beds were everything. It made going to bed absolute heaven and made waking up in the morning always so pleasant. I don't think it's possible to wake up on the wrong side of the bed here! What I also loved about the hotel was their turn down service. Upon returning to the suite after dinner, the bed had been made ready for bed; Water was ready on the bedside tables, slippers in place, the curtains closed, relaxing music playing on the TV, and the comforter turned down.

The bathroom of the room was another stunner, with marble counters and a spacious rain shower with two additional shower heads as well. The bathroom was equipped with Fresh amenities that smelled and felt wonderful against my skin. This was literally #BathroomGoals.

The last day in our suite was definitely a sad one, since we didn't want to leave. We ordered breakfast and enjoyed it on our terrace on a beautiful Sunday morning with New York City having a slow start down below. The food was incredible and with the Wayfarer restaurant directly below, you're guaranteed to have an amazing meal whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

I hope that if you're ever in New York City and are looking for a place to stay, to consider The Quin hotel. The staff is amazing and the rooms are absolute perfection. I had a great experience staying with the property and would absolutely recommend the hotel to all my family and friends. Check out a short video of my stay down below! Covry Sunwear

It doesn't matter how many pairs of sunglasses I already own, one can never have enough! I love to switch it up every now and then, and although a majority of my pairs are chunky and oversized, a feminine style is definitely a must have in anyone's sunglass collection. Covry has a new selection of sunwear made of excellent quality. Who doesn't love a good pair of sunnies that don't break the bank? The pair you see here are the "Maia" sunnies in black and I was immediately drawn to the delicate design and their elevated fit. I can't wait to style these with more of my outfits, not to mention how perfectly it will go with my many bags. Shop their collection here and I've also teamed up with Covry to give away a gift card so you can get yourself a pair of their sunglasses! Enter in my latest Instagram post here!

The Reformation

Black attire during the summer is the norm in New York City, but mixing things up a little with some print helps the look from not looking too bleak. While staying in the city at the 11 Howard hotel, I may have strolled into Reformation one too many times, simply because it was just doors down from the property. Although the prices can be a bit high, it's always good to find some solid staples you know that you can mix and match with a lot of different things in your wardrobe. For another one of those hot NYC summer days, a simple tee and these shorts made for an easy and breezy stroll through Downtown Manhattan. Shop this full look below!

Mansur Gavriel Mini Bucket Bag

There was always something lacking with my handbag collection. The Mansur Gavriel bucket bag is a very popular choice for everyday use, and with a majority of my pieces being black, I knew that this one had to be in that "cammello" color. I remember the days where this bag would just be sold out moments out of a restock. Luckily, you can stroll into Barneys, or any department store that carries them really, and there will be stock left over. Is it in the size and color combo that you want? It may or may not be.

These bags are made of vegetable tanned leather and they come in a variety of color combinations and materials. I opted for the mini size because it just seemed to be the perfect size for my frame. When it came to the large size, it just seemed to swallow me. I was looking for an easy summer bag and it seemed like the right time to finally add this one to my collection.

The Mini Bucket Bag measures at 8"W x 9.5"H x 4.5"D. The great thing about this bag is that it has an adjustable strap to fit different torso lengths or just whatever you're comfortable with based on personal preference. The bag is stiff so it's great at retaining it's shape. The top of the bag is closed by a drawstring so you can leave this a little open to easily go in and out of the bag. But lesson learned, I will definitely be more careful with this bag because I had my wallet stolen out of it.

If you're rocking this bag, just make sure to always be aware of hands going in and out of your bag. Despite that unfortunate event, it won't stop me from wearing this bag. I'll just be extra careful about wearing it out. When it comes to weather, like any bags, be careful. But I definitely need to take a lot of caution with this bag in wet weather because watermarks will stay on the bag due to the light color.

For the price, which is $495 for this size, it's a great quality bag with a simple and classic design. I would definitely recommend looking into this if you want something casual that you can easily throw your belongings into. Not to mention, this bag goes great with an everyday look.
