THANK YOU
To my fellow classmates and graduates, thank you and congratulations. To my loving and supportive parents, thank you. To my family that always cheered me on and pushed me to be better, thank you. To my friends that inspired me and motivated me every day, thank you. To my boyfriend that is always there when I need him, my biggest fan, thank you. And to everyone else that I haven't met yet, but inspired me through other means, my followers, my readers, thank you. Last week I finally graduated college Cum Laude with a BFA in Interior Design, something I have been pursuing for the past four years. This is for you guys, for everyone that believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself. I wouldn't be where I am without you guys.
To everyone else that graduated this year or is graduating this year, I hope that our generation can continue to learn from one another and also teach each other through our creativity, our imagination, to inspire with our determination to reach our goals and will to accomplish what we aspire to be. We know no limits and that's a powerful thing. We're blessed to live in a time where it's so easy to connect with each other, to share ideas, learn, travel, etc. As we enter "the real world," let's remember that rather than competing against our peers, we should empower and push each other to the best of our abilities. This is a time to celebrate how we finally accomplished what we've wanted for ourselves and for what our parents wanted for us as well.
Here's to all those late nights that we stayed up finishing projects or studying for exams. Here's to coffee being our hero in the mornings when we just couldn't. Here's to proving wrong the people that thought that we couldn't. Here's to us using our voices and our minds to continue creating a world where we can be ourselves, be accepting, forgiving, and open minded. Congratulations to the Class of 2016.
NEXT CHAPTER
I never anticipated being this emotional around graduation time, but it has finally hit me that a chapter of our lives has come to an end. From the cards I've received from family and friends, the words that people took the time to write for me, people I have worked with, people I have interacted with through social platforms, and people I have met through blogging and social media, I know that I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for each and every person that has been a part of my life until this point. I am so blessed and thankful for all the opportunities that my parents have given me and what they sacrificed for me to follow my dreams. I promise that as I take on the world, I will continue to make you proud and won't let you down. I do not know what the future holds for me but I am ready for this next chapter to begin.
