New York, NY

I've lived in New York City since I was eight years old. Compared to growing up in Manila, it's a world of a difference. Frequenting the same few coffee shops, the MTA and walking being my primary mode of transportation, having my list of must try restaurants, I felt it appropriate to share some of my favorites. I've gotten multiple e-mails and messages from people letting me know about their upcoming trips to the big apple and what I recommend. Well, here's my little guide to the city that I love.

Transportation: Walk everywhere or take the train. With the amount of traffic in NYC and everyone hailing a cab or catching their Uber's, going underground is your best bet.

Places to See: Skip the top of the Empire State and climb Rockefeller instead, from there, you'll actually get a shot of the skyline with the ESB in your view. Check out The Mall at Central Park leading up to Bethesda Fountain. It's one of my favorite spots in the Park. West Village, Williamsburg and DUMBO are also great areas to hang out in.

Favorite Coffee Shops: Happy Bones, Chalait, Bibble & Sip (Get the Hot Chocolate), Bluestone Lane Collective Cafe, Spreadhouse, Toby's Estate in Williamsburg, Sweatshop, and AP Cafe.

Food: Ping's Seafood (Great Dim Sum, my favorite location is in Queens), Luke's Lobster, Spot Dessert Bar, Totto Ramen, Vive La Crepe, Clinton Street Baking Company, David Burke's Kitchen, Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong KBBQ, Bon Chon Chicken, Chicken & Rice on 53rd and 6th, Cantine Parisienne, Untitled at the Whitney, Buvette, Lady M, Insomnia Cookies, Baked By Melissa, Fig & Olive, and Sant Ambroeus in Soho.
