When in Doubt, Wear Black

If I had to wear only black or white for the rest of my life, I don't think I would entirely mind. As my summer nears it's end, I'm trying to make the most of my last few weeks of freedom. I begin my bachelors program for Interior Design soon and I'm both scared and excited. However, maybe that's a good thing? For this look, I decided to pair a simple black tank with my skort from Aritzia. I also got gifted the beautiful "Classic Sheffield Lady" by Daniel Wellington. If you shop their website, you can use the code "asianalyssa" to get 15% off! To make a statement, I'm wearing this beautiful "Sutton" necklace by Stella & Dot that can be worn 5 different ways! Read more to get the full details on this look! I've got a lot of great content lined up for my future posts, so stay tuned!

Room Update Part II

My room is my personal space, where I can just relax, rest, write, draw, whatever it is. This is an expression of my personality and speaks volumes of my style and taste. Last year, my room got a little make-over because after I began studying Interior Design, I wanted my room to reflect what I've learned and what I've grown to love. I replaced some old furniture that didn't suit me anymore, filtered out a ton of clothes that weren't exactly "me," and it just became a better representation of myself. Everything got replaced last year, except for my desk, which wasn't replaced until this past Monday. Now, everything finally matches! Check out the rest of this post to see my room. For a look at my previous room posts, you can find them here, here, and here.

Vase: Target // Jewelry Stand: PBTeen

My bedding is the Suite Organic Duvet Set from Pottery Barn. The throw pillows are from Target and my stuffed 'Boo' is from Urban Outfitters. The decorative tray, jewelry tray, and art piece below is from Target as well.

In my little corner, I have a bookcase (not for books) and my clothing rack with my most favorite white and blush pieces. At the base of the clothing rack, I have boxes from Ikea that store my fabric samples for my Interior Design projects for school. Atop the boxes is a faux fur rug from Ikea and then a collection of some of my designer bags ranging from Saint Laurent to Céline, Louis Vuitton to Gucci, and most recently added, Chloé. My bookcase houses my Chanel and Christian Louboutins as well as some Tory Burch shoes and magazines.

I love hoarding designer bags so to utilize them, I framed some to use as art over my desk space. The frames are all from Ikea and all in all cost about $20. I love how simple and sophisticated it looks. These designer things represent the fashion-obsessed side of my personality. Oh, and who doesn't love a good designer book stack? I got a bunch of these for a great deal on Amazon!

Wine bottles as bracelet holders? I loved this idea so I just had to have it in my room as well. It's such a simple and cheap way to display your favorite bangles! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask! I've got a couple more little tweaks that I'm trying to accomplish, such as a new piece for above my bed and a new iMac to help support some designing programs I'll need for school. But until then, this is my room and I just love how it's turning out!

Chloé Marcie Satchel

This post has been long overdue but here's a reveal of my new Chloé Marcie in rose milk! I've been on the hunt for a neutral colored bag. After punching the numbers over the Prada Cuir that I originally had my eyes on, I decided on this Chloé bag instead. I purchased this bag through the Forward by Elyse Walker app. It was such a great deal that I couldn't resist! The app doesn't charge you for tax, free two-day shipping, and you get 15% off your first purchase with a promotional code that I've included at the end of this blog entry. Check out the rest of this post to see more photos of the newest addition to my growing handbag collection!

A Walk in the Park

There's just something so soothing about sitting at the park, Washington Square Park in particular. It was a beautiful summer evening, just sitting and walking around, listening to the performers, watching all the people that were either skateboarding, drawing chalk art on the ground, massive bubbles, etc. It's evenings like these that make me wish summer could last forever.

I decided to take my brand new Chloé Marcie out and about for a little city date with my boyfriend. I'll be posting a review on the bag soon. I'm hoping everyone is enjoying their summers so far. Have a great weekend!

Blonde Balayage

Well, it's been about 8 weeks since I last got my hair toned, and ever since I made the initial decision to try balayage, I haven't looked back! I got my hair done for the very first time at Fox & Jane Salon in the Lower East Side over Spring Break this past semester. A fair amount of research went into looking up the best places in NYC to get ombré/balayage treatment and I discovered that Fox & Jane got amazing reviews! I set up an appointment with my stylist, Bianca, whose work you can view on her Instagram@hairthrone. She has been my stylist since day one and ever since my full-balayage, I knew I was in love with her work!

After the first appointment, I scheduled my "toning" and haircut with her six weeks from that day. After my second appointment right after Memorial Day Weekend, I asked about going lighter, so we set up a third appointment for me to do a partial balayage and these are my results! My hair is now blonde towards my front ends. I'm always getting complimented on my hair and I know it's all thanks to the Fox & Jane family, especially my stylist, Bianca. I've recommended her to anyone who has ever asked me about my salon. Read more to see more photos and get an idea of how amazing she is. You can find the salon details at the bottom! To see my first balayage, you can find that post here.

Summer in the City

Summers in New York City always gave me mixed emotions. Sometimes it would be extremely hot and humid, other days would be wonderful and breezy. Luckily, this particular day was kind to me, the weather was permitting me to wear jeans on a summer day.

For this outfit, I decided to wear my new Citizens of Humanity 'Rocket' denims, pretty much the most perfect pair of distressed jeans I have ever owned. I've been itching to wear them since I got them a few days ago and I'm glad I got the opportunity to! I'm also wearing my Wilfred Éclater Top from Aritzia, Saint Laurent Sac De Jour Small, and my black Sam Edelman Trina's. I love pairing crisp white with denim and throwing in a little black and gold into the mix as well. I hope everyone has an amazing week!

Lace and Levis

Let's face it, I can't help but love wearing white, especially come the summer months when it makes my skin look a little tanner and my hair's color a little brighter. After an afternoon stroll through Midtown, Bryant Park seemed to be a good location to people watch on a late summer afternoon. By 5:30PM, the street's are much busier since everyone's leaving work and rushing to get home.

I decided to pair this little lace number from Forever 21 with my Levi Strauss high waisted shorts from Aritzia. My yellow Tory Burch mini bag came out to play along with my seemingly favorite sandals for the season, the Sam Edelman Trina's. My style is mostly dressing for comfort, and in the summer, having an outfit that's both cute, comfortable, and appropriate can be quite tricky, but with denim and lace, you can never go wrong. I'm longing for a weekend getaway to the beach, just relaxing on the sand. However, in the meantime, I'll enjoy the hustle and bustle that Manhattan has to offer. Maybe next month I can make a little summer escape with my boyfriend and friends.

Summer Strolls

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July weekend! I spent a lot of time with my family, swimming, eating, and catching up on a lot of sleep in between! I didn't really get to watch much fireworks since I was out in New Jersey and nothing was really happening in the area, but that's okay. I can't believe that it's already July, meaning I've got less than two months of summer left before I have to go back to school! But enough about that. Aeropostale has just released a new collection and I have to say that I'm pretty in love with some of the things that I picked up. Read more to shop this look and see more details on this outfit!

July | Current Cravings

Since my last "Currently Coveting" post, a couple of things have changed. For one thing, I was able to acquire 50% of those items, and secondly, I've got my eye on some other things now. Let's start with the last post, which you can find here. This past month, I got my hands on a lot of things, but from that list, I got the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, the Aritzia Wilfred Beaudry Blouse, and the Triangl Tilly Sunburst.

For this month, I've got my eye on an Apple 27" iMac for school. I need something that can handle all my design and editing programs. As for clothing, I need myself a good pair of destroyed denim, so I'm coveting the Citizens of Humanity Rocket Indie jeans. I still want the Prada Cuir in caramel but that dream may have to wait a couple more weeks or so. For make-up, I'd like to get my hands on the NARSissist Cheek Kit. some Sephora Brushes, and Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb.

That's all for now! Stay tuned for some tutorials on my hair and make-up! Thank you so much for reading and all your love and support.

White Tops, Lofts, and Flowers

Happy Wednesday! I know it's been a while since I've posted any outfit posts. I've been super busy with work but I finally got the chance to shoot this look yesterday! I was invited back to the loft with Aeropostale to shoot for their official Instagram page. This time around, I was on the other side of the camera taking the photos of the outfits. Luckily my friend Kamila was able to help me snap a few shots so I could put a post together on my blog. I love being in this space with Aeropostale, not to mention it included lunch. It's just so beautiful and the decor is exactly how I would picture my own apartment to be. The white space is a dream and the way the light just naturally lights up the room is absolutely incredible. Read more to get the details of this outfit and shop this look below!
