My room is my personal space, where I can just relax, rest, write, draw, whatever it is. This is an expression of my personality and speaks volumes of my style and taste. Last year, my room got a little make-over because after I began studying Interior Design, I wanted my room to reflect what I've learned and what I've grown to love. I replaced some old furniture that didn't suit me anymore, filtered out a ton of clothes that weren't exactly "me," and it just became a better representation of myself. Everything got replaced last year, except for my desk, which wasn't replaced until this past Monday. Now, everything finally matches! Check out the rest of this post to see my room. Vase: Target // Jewelry Stand: PBTeen
My bedding is the Suite Organic Duvet Set from Pottery Barn. The throw pillows are from Target and my stuffed 'Boo' is from Urban Outfitters. The decorative tray, jewelry tray, and art piece below is from Target as well.
In my little corner, I have a bookcase (not for books) and my clothing rack with my most favorite white and blush pieces. At the base of the clothing rack, I have boxes from Ikea that store my fabric samples for my Interior Design projects for school. Atop the boxes is a faux fur rug from Ikea and then a collection of some of my designer bags ranging from Saint Laurent to Céline, Louis Vuitton to Gucci, and most recently added, Chloé. My bookcase houses my Chanel and Christian Louboutins as well as some Tory Burch shoes and magazines.
I love hoarding designer bags so to utilize them, I framed some to use as art over my desk space. The frames are all from Ikea and all in all cost about $20. I love how simple and sophisticated it looks. These designer things represent the fashion-obsessed side of my personality. Oh, and who doesn't love a good designer book stack? I got a bunch of these for a great deal on Amazon!
Wine bottles as bracelet holders? I loved this idea so I just had to have it in my room as well. It's such a simple and cheap way to display your favorite bangles! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask! I've got a couple more little tweaks that I'm trying to accomplish, such as a new piece for above my bed and a new iMac to help support some designing programs I'll need for school. But until then, this is my room and I just love how it's turning out!
