Shangri-La Toronto

Back in Toronto, and back to Shangri-La. This time, I was able to bring Marco along for a quick weekend getaway out of New York City. Much needed with the hecticness that comes along with the holidays. It's always nice to have a hotel feel like home, welcoming you back with open arms. Growing up in Manila, Philippines, I was fond of the Shangri-La properties that my parents would take me to. In a way, Shangri-La Toronto reminded me of those days that I was a kid roaming through the grand and beautiful lobbies, but this time, I'm making my way there myself.

We stayed in a Premier King Room, similar to the hotel room I had during my first visit back in May. I was looking forward to having that cozy bed once again for a few nights, relaxing baths with a view of the city, and there's just always a signature Shangri-La aroma that I can't get enough of. The property is centrally located in Downtown Toronto, making it the perfect location to come home to after a long day of wandering the city.

Although this was a mini vacation for us, I still needed to get some work done during the evenings. I would situate myself at the desk, go through the inbox before nestling back into bed for the evening. Turn down service was always incredible to come back to, slippers by the bed, water on the table, sheets folded down and ready for us to slip into.

Of course the accommodations are impeccable. I mean, who could resist an all marble bathroom with a stunning bathtub and view like this? But as always, it's the staff and family that always make the stay that much better. Shangri-La Toronto made Marco and I feel right at home from the second we arrived. I only wish we stayed a little bit longer.

Our final morning at the hotel was a delicious breakfast at Bosk. We made our way down to the lobby, appropriately decorated for the holidays, and headed over to the restaurant where we were seated by the windows. I can still taste the perfect french toast and eggs that I had that morning and the pineapple juice that I got many refills of.
Shangri-La Toronto has a gym, indoor pool, and spa as well. It's the perfect little getaway out of the city for me and I know that I'll be back soon. They have multiple properties around the world and I already can't wait for my next visit to another Shangri-La Hotel in the Philippines. A special thank you to Shangri-La Toronto for having us.
