Night-Time Skin Regimen

If you're here, it might be because you just saw my evening's skincare routine on my Instagram Stories. I realize it's a lot of product information so I wanted you guys to be able to see everything all at once as well as some other products that I use and swap around with. Keep in mind that this is just my NIGHT routine and the morning routine will come along in the next few days (or I'll at least try to) but my morning routine is definitely not as heavy as what I do before bed. Most mornings will probably be 3-4 steps at most but what I do after a long day is definitely something I look forward to.

When I was a teenager, I definitely battled acne and I still have some scarring to prove it. Over the past year or two, I've definitely been fortunate enough to have worked with some of my favorite brands and these products have literally saved my skin. To begin, let me mention what my skin is like:

Combination Skin - Tendency for Dryness in Cold Months
Had Acne as a Teen. Some Dark Spots + Scarring in Cheek Area
Large Pores on Nose and A Little Into Cheek Area
Need to Exfoliate Between Chin/Mouth Area, Nose Sides, and Temples

After a long day and after finally getting settled in at home, my routine begins with removing my make-up. I pretty much use tinted moisturizer 99% of the time because I just prefer a lighter coverage to allow my skin to breathe better. Full coverage just isn't something I'm too into so take this into consideration as well.

STEP 1: REMOVE MAKE-UP
I like to use the Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes: Regular or Night Calming. I have no preference between the two types.

STEP 2: CLEANSE
What I use to wash my face depends on what I want to achieve with my skin. Also don't forget that when you're done washing your face, pat your skin dry with a towel. NO SCRUBBING! And don't forget to wash your neck too.
I use the Clarisonic MIA 1 with any of these. Here are my Top 3 Face Washes:
When My Skin is Dry: La Mer Cleansing Foam
When My Skin is Normal: Mario Badescu Orange Cleansing Soap
If you're having issues with Acne, I love the Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser

STEP 3: UNCLOG THE PORES
I love the Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. And I always think of that scene in Princess Diaries whenever I wear them. I like to do this after cleansing my face, 2-3 times a week depending on necessity, opening up with pores with warm water and applying the strip. I peel it off slowly and then close the pores off with cold water.

STEP 4: EXFOLIATING
About once or twice a week, I'll exfoliate my skin with the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. I'll do this on whichever day I'm not using a pore strip. As I mentioned earlier, the areas that I need to exfoliate is the area between my mouth/chin, sides of my nose, and sometimes my temples. With this, my skin goes from bumpy and rough to baby soft. This was a game changer for me because I was someone who never thought too much of exfoliating, but I realize now, it makes such a difference.

STEP 5: TONING/ESSENCES
My go-to on a daily basis is the La Mer Cleansing Micellar Water just to sweep away any other dirt, impurities, while still moisturizing my skin. If I feel like I need to even out my skin's texture or tone, I will use my La Mer Treatment Lotion. Other great toners that I've tried and enjoyed would be the Estée Lauder Micro Essence, SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, and for a more affordable option, the Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner.

STEP 6: MINIMIZE PORES
Once I'm done with my toner,  I go in with something I just recently fell in love with: Estée Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin RefinisherTo quote Mean Girls, "My pores are huge!" I'd even use this as a primer before applying my tinted moisturizer.

STEP 7: MOISTURIZE
I can't stress enough how important it is to moisturize. On a daily basis, I go with my La Mer Moisturizing Soft Lotion. For nights before a special occasion or maybe every other night, I'll use the Sunday Riley CEO to brighten up and firm my skin. It smells amazing and I love how my skin looks in the morning! Other great moisturizers: First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Moisturizer or Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.

STEP 8: EYE SERUM
You won't have to worry too much about concealing eye-bags with these products. These have definitely helped me reduce the look of dark circles when I don't get enough sleep! La Mer Eye Concentrate, Illuminating Eye Gel, or Lifting Eye Serum. My favorite is definitely the "Illuminating Eye Gel."

OTHER GREAT PRODUCTS
Other products that I love using every now and then, definitely not every day or night products for me, are listed below. Whether it's tightening the look of the skin, acne problems, etc. These have been great for me to use every now and then!

I hope you guys have found this post helpful! This post is not sponsored and I stand by all products that I've mentioned. Please keep in mind that everyone's skin is different so results may not exactly be the same but the key is definitely to be consistent. I've got my fair share of nights where all I wanna do is remove my make-up and call it a day, but having a routine has definitely helped me see an improvement in my skin.

Skincare should always come first because it does make a difference in how your make-up looks and feels when you put it on top! I'm really excited to put together a make-up routine post for you guys and I'll be sure to mention my morning skin regimen in that as well. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments below and I'll try my best to answer. Have a great rest of the week, guys!
