At the end of every year, I love looking back on my favorite moments. As I began my year in New York City with my boyfriend, and ending it just the same, the in between was filled with so much love, laughter, and travel. With each new experience, was a new lesson learned, seeing the world from a new point of view and coming home with a better outlook on life. Though many people joke that 2016 was "the worst year ever," it has been unbelievably kind to me. Scroll through to check out some of my favorite moments.
Paris has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. This past March, Marco and were able to travel to the city of lights and found ourselves falling in love with it so much that we're going to be making a return in 2017. The culture, food, and people made this trip one of the best ones we've been on. I often find myself looking back on our trip video because I constantly find myself missing it. Can't wait to see you again in the New Year.
In May, I finally presented my senior thesis for Interior Design and graduated after switching majors and being in college for 6 years after high school. Although I'm not pursuing a career in ID at the moment, it's been wonderful blogging full-time and helping my friends redesign and redecorate their apartments. I still enjoy sketching and helping family and friends out with their spaces, who knows, I could have my own firm in a few years.
A summer wouldn't be complete without an island getaway. After our initial trip in 2013, Marco and I headed back to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic where we were able to travel outside of the resort and enjoy the beautiful island of Saona. Any suggestions for the next tropical getaway?
Marco and I attended the Lantern Festival twice this year and it was such a wonderful experience. This has been on my bucket list for years and we were finally able to attend one with close family and friends. I've had to learn to let go of a lot of negativity that I was holding on to, write down hopes for the future, I highly recommend attending one if you can!
One of the most important moments of 2016 was traveling to Italy with Marco because of my blog. When I began blogging in 2013, it was my creative outlet when I needed a break from what I was studying in school. I pursued blogging full-time shortly after graduating college and investing in myself was one of the best decisions I have ever made. To view the city of Milan from the top of the Duomo was one of the most surreal and humbling moments of my life, not because of where I was, but more so what it meant being there, how I got there, and getting a glimpse of where I could go.
