Gucci Soho Leather Disco Bag

I couldn't go to Italy without a little souvenir in the form of Gucci. Originally set to purchase the Princetown Leather Slippers, furless, plans changed when my size wasn't in stock at multiple locations. Though a little disappointed, I continued to browse through the shops until I decided to try on the Soho Leather Disco Bag as it sat on display at the store on Via Monte Napoleone. I fell in love with the perfect nude color, something that I've definitely been missing in my collection, a sea of black backs in various shapes and sizes. Continue reading to get some additional details on this bag as well as the pros and cons that I've noticed after having this bag for a month.

I loved the helpfulness of the staff in the shops in Milan. The patience of one saleswoman who brought me several pairs of shoes to try and get the right fit for me was something that I truly appreciated. And although I didn't end up purchasing shoes, I ended up with something that I actually love even more than those shoes.

This is the "Soho Leather Disco Bag" in rose beige leather with light gold toned hardware. It came stuffed with paper to retain the shape as well as came covered in a silk/satin dust bag. The front of the bag is embossed with interlocking G logo of the brand. Though a small cross-body bag, I was surprised to find out how much room it actually has. The interior, lined with cotton linen, has two pockets with an adjustable leather strap to fit different heights.

Dimensions: 8"W x 6"H x 2.7"D and a 21.6" Strap Drop.

PROS:
I love a good bag that has adjustable straps. It's such a struggle finding a good bag but hits you at the wrong length. It surprisingly can fit my wallet, card holder, keys, cellphone, and sunglasses comfortably without getting deformed. The tassel is a great detail to the bag that separates it from other camera bag styles. It can easily be dressed up or down and this color goes with practically anything. Easy bags like this are always a great buy because you'll always find yourself reaching for it most days. The small size means I won't overstuff it so I don't have to worry about carrying anything too heavy and being uncomfortable like my larger bags. Another plus, the big one that made this a no-brainer, was the price. This bag is $980 in USD or €790 if you're purchasing in Europe.

CONS:
Because of the light color of the leather, it will make color transfer a big possibility. I try to keep this in mind when I'm pairing this bag with my outfits, typically opting for leggings or a light colored sweater. Colored or washed denim are definitely going to be a no with this bag, just to prevent damaging the back side from rubbing. When in storage, the tassel tends to bend so it's important to store it properly. The zipper is on the stiffer side, making it not very smooth going in and out of the bag. Although my larger wallet fits, it pushes the sides a bit so I tend to only use a smaller wallet or just my card holder when I'm using this bag. Other than these observations, I have had no regrets with my purchase.

If you've been on the fence about this bag, I hope that this review/post has helped you make a final decision. It truly is a classic bag and although I grew out of an older Gucci bag that I got years ago, this one will be sticking around for quite some time. Shop the Gucci Soho Leather Disco Bag below!

  1. Love this bag! Was listing after it forever after spotting it on so many bloggers in this rose beige color. I ended up picking it up in Paris in *lobehold* the color Red💛 It's so gorgeous with the gold hardware. Perfection.
