Orange Is

Not at the top of my list of favorite colors, but it's definitely growing on me. I'd like to say that I've been adding a lot more color to my wardrobe, however it's still about 90% whites and creams. There have been a couple recent purchases in this rust tone that I just can't seem to get over. Most would say that orange is the least favorite color, but maybe all it takes is finding that right shade. These Free People pants were perfectly balanced with my Brandy Melville top and nude sandals. With a good tan, this is a color combo I'll definitely be repeating. I also hope you're loving the new look of the blog, it was definitely time for a change. Shop this look at the end of the post!

How I Instagram

I think it's safe to say that one app has had a major impact in my life. Instagram has become a major tool for my blog and when it comes to the photos, I do not take it lightly. The angles, the lighting, everything needs to be just right. Over the years, my style has definitely transformed. As a beginner, I definitely overdid it with filters, frames, bokeh effects, etc. You won't find any of that on my page anymore. I've got a certain way of "gramming" and I'm sharing it with you all. Continue reading to get all my Insta-Tips. ;)

At the Seams

Even in the summer months, I'll find a way to cozy up in a knit sweater. Though I've been limiting my "sweater" buys since I honestly just have way too many to begin with, I just couldn't resist this one from Free People. Despite it's chunky look, it's the perfect piece to throw over my outfit on those cooler summer days. Pairing this with my new custom mi Stan Smith sneakers and my favorite boyfriend shorts from American Eagle Outfitters, I remained cozy in this boyish look on my way to spend the weekend in Long Island for some much-needed R&R.

Strolls Through Princeton

I love finding myself in quaint little towns, where the buildings don't go up 40 stories and the noise isn't all police cars and fire trucks. Marco and I found our way back to Princeton now that the weather was much more inviting since our last time here over the winter months. It's a nice change of pace to escape from the city where I find myself 5 days a week. I find it tricky dressing for the summer, limiting yourself to few layers, trying to stay comfortable while still putting together a good outfit. I've been finding myself gravitating towards a lot more slouchy and pieces lately just because it really is the easiest option for the summer months.

Lightness

Dressed in one of the most comfortable blouses made from a gauzy material, boyfriend shorts, and my favorite summer sandals, this is one of my favorite "light looks." During these next few months, the lighter the fabric, the better. I want to continue that trend by keeping the weight off my shoulders, an easy and simple summer before the stresses of school swing back around. Speaking of shoulders, I'm really excited to be going in for a haircut very soon. I think I've reached a point where I'm just not feeling the upkeep of long thick hair, and for that change, I'm so excited to share it once the deed's been done!

Silver Lining

Change is the only constant in life and we just have try and adjust to it. We have the choice to try and change the things we can't accept but also must learn to accept the things that we cannot change. We're constantly growing and there will be people in your life that can grow with you, and some you'll have to leave behind. I've found myself experiencing both so much positivity and negativity in the past couple of months but it's important to always look for the silver lining in any situation. I look forward to new days, new experiences, and new opportunities that tomorrow can always bring. That's the silver lining, things can always get better. I believe they will.

A Day At The Races

Never thought I'd have so much fun betting on ponies but you never know until you try! Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the horse races at Belmont. There's this "old world" vibe that I just loved about the environment and having fun with friends was definitely the cherry on top of it all. It's definitely a great way spend a lovely summer day, standing by the railings watching the horses go by, sipping on some drinks, and wearing some big floppy hats. Thank you so much to America's Best Racing for having my friends and I. We truly had an amazing time!
