Serendipity

How wonderful it is to hear, "I wish I knew you sooner." Today is Marco and I's four year anniversary and it's strange the way it feels like it's been forever, yet I can still remember the first date like it was yesterday. From the earliest memories of us attending elementary school together, to the most recent memories of laughing in car-rides and singing along to the radio obnoxiously, it's definitely been an adventure. I won't delve into the extent of our relationship, but I will express my gratitude for having found someone so wonderful in life. For something a little bit more personal than my typical outfit narratives, continue reading about, well, us. It's been four years since we've made it "official" and I honestly could not be happier to have him in my life. And by the way, isn't it nice to see the guy that's usually behind the camera taking my blog photos? Haha, another reason I'm happy to have him in my life, supporting me in everything that I do. My biggest fan.

Marco and I first met in the third grade and that was in 2000. Who would've thought that years later, he would be my boyfriend, my best friend, my biggest supporter. Through past relationships, I've learned not to sell myself short and understand my worth. My mother always instilled in me to make sure I gave my time to a boy that deserved it, so I never rushed into getting a boyfriend or going on dates. What happened with Marco was just that. From little dates here and there, things just happened, and I think that's the beauty of it all.

Serendipity (n.) - Finding something good without looking for it.

It has been four years of ups and downs, fights, disagreements, but that's normal. Among the struggles we've faced, we found happiness and millions of moments of laughter. We've got countless inside jokes, know each other like the back of our hands, but most importantly, he makes me want to be the best version of myself. We do not complete each other, we complement each other, we are complete on our own. We are not perfect on our own, but somehow it feels as though we are perfect for each other. Over the years, things have certainly changed, but we've grown together to help us become the best versions of ourselves, learning from our mistakes, changing for the better, etc.

"Thank you for being such a blessing in my life, for supporting me, for loving me, and for always being there for me. Happy Four Years, I cannot wait to see where the rest of our adventure takes us."
