City views at sunset, now that's something that will never get old. I always have this moment of reflection when I'm at this spot in Brooklyn. Maybe it's the way the skyscrapers' images spill back into the water. Maybe it's because of the sunset and I think more as the day comes to a close. Whatever it may be, whatever the cause for this effect, I'm happy. I have reached a point in my life where I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone in my life and all the opportunities that have been given to me. I am closing a chapter in my life, a chapter full of doubts and insecurities, a version of me that allowed people to take advantage of me, use me, and make me feel guilty for things that I should be proud of. Not anymore.

How wonderful it is to hear, "I wish I knew you sooner." Today is Marco and I's four year anniversary and it's strange the way it feels like it's been forever, yet I can still remember the first date like it was yesterday. From the earliest memories of us attending elementary school together, to the most recent memories of laughing in car-rides and singing along to the radio obnoxiously, it's definitely been an adventure. I won't delve into the extent of our relationship, but I will express my gratitude for having found someone so wonderful in life. For something a little bit more personal than my typical outfit narratives, continue reading about, well, us. It's been four years since we've made it "official" and I honestly could not be happier to have him in my life. And by the way, isn't it nice to see the guy that's usually behind the camera taking my blog photos? Haha, another reason I'm happy to have him in my life, supporting me in everything that I do. My biggest fan.
I'm calling this "Sunday Morning" because that's when these photos were taken, and not going to lie, it's one of my favorite songs. When juggling school, working two jobs, blogging, and still maintaining my sanity with a social life, finding a day to yourself is incredible. I can be a morning person... if that morning included breakfast in bed, watching reruns of Sex and the City, and staying in my pajamas past 10 am that is. Though I am used to the fast paced lifestyle that growing up in New York City has forced me to accept, I enjoy these lazy mornings because when you live here, "quiet" isn't exactly the first word that comes to mind. I feel like I've been living in a bizarre world the past week. It's always been in my personality to trust people easily, giving them the benefit of the doubt. I thought I learned all the lessons about fake friends in high school but they continue well into college and after. The only thing I can do is leave the situation trying to be the bigger person, still weeding out toxic people from my life. This spring is all about fresh new beginnings, true friends, and nothing but good vibes. I've got a new job, summer plans ready, and there's no reason for me to stop being the person that I am if that's what's making me happy. I'm opening up a bit more on these "outfit" posts and I hope that's alright. It's a new season and it's just time for a new chapter in my life. For additional outfit details, continue reading this post.
Wandering around the city between classes keep me sane. Let me step off campus to explore the city a little bit more, clear my head, gather my thoughts. The spring blooms have allowed me to realize that it's okay to start new, leaving things in the past that may have held me back because I put other people's feelings before my own far too often. Along with a clearer view of the changes I want to make, and also on a much lighter note, this white coat has been one of my favorite purchases of the season. This palette will definitely been on repeat, I am already apologizing a head of time. Read more for additional details on this look!

The Washington Mews have always seemed like an escape from New York City, a gated street by NYU that seem to be miles away from the skyscrapers and high-rises. Still transitioning from winter to spring, I've been trying to make use of my fall and winter favorites for as long as I can, including my Stuart Weitzman 'Lowland' boots and I must admit, this is a sweater dress I've purchased a while ago but haven't gotten around to blogging about. This has certainly been one of my busiest weeks but I promise you that this summer, I've got some incredible things coming up.
If you ever need to find me, I'll most likely be spending my days in SoHo, wandering through the shops and architecture that lower Manhattan has to offer. Walking the New York City grid during the rain can be less than desirable sometimes, so it usually calls for an off-duty look. Street People Atelier provides comfy yet stylish t-shirts for just that. Now that it's April, I'm expecting tons of rainy days which means boots, tees, and trenches until that Spring sunshine comes into full effect, so these tees will become a perfect go-to piece for some simpler and more casual looks.
