YSL Lipsticks

Let's get one thing straight, I hated wearing lipstick. I found it annoying, it dried my lips, I just couldn't get into wearing lipstick every day. Maybe it's just because I couldn't find "the one." It wasn't until about a year ago, when one of my closest friends suggested that I try the YSL Lipsticks. I purchased my first one, "Pink In Paris" and I was immediately hooked.

The lipstick is so smooth and it even includes SPF 15. The shine that is blended into the color is just incredible. This post isn't really about the specific colors that I have, which are all mostly in the pink family, but rather a general review of the Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks in general.

My everyday favorite is either #8 Pink in Confidence or #9 Nude in Private. I love the lighter pink colors for a lip on a day to day basis. It's not too striking nor is it too plain either. For bolder looks, I've been loving my most recent addition, #18 Prune in Fire. It goes so well against my balayage hair color that I had to buy it as soon as I tried it on at Sephora.

My collection of YSL Rouge Volupté Shine currently includes #5 Fuchsia in Excess, #8 Pink in Confidence, #9 Nude in Private, #13 Pink in Paris, #17 Rose in Tension, and #18 Prune in fire. What I love the most about these lipsticks is that they don't dry out my lips like other brands have in the past. They feel like a balm and for me to have color on my lips without having chapped lips the next day is such a win for me. You can find these at Sephora for $35.00.

In my opinion, the price is well worth the quality that you get out of it, not to mention the gorgeous collection of colors that they have. I have yet to add a red color but trust me, I'm on the lookout for one. If you're on the fence about it, give it a try and see how you like it. You won't be disappointed.

  1. I've always thought YSL a bit out of my budget but spending a bit more on something I LOVE vs. 4 or 5 of the drug store variety that I simply just like is completely worth it to me! Thanks for the review, going on my wishlist pronto!

  3. You should add an image of you wearing these lipstick shades! Sometimes the colors aren't true to the shades on the lipstick tube. :]
