Aritzia Haul

Hey guys! So I'm posting up this vlog, a haul of my most recent purchases that I'm absolutely in love with. As you can tell by the title, most of the items are from Aritzia with the exception of a pair of shoes from Zara. I always used to shop mostly at Forever 21 and H&M, and because of work, my closet always included a good amount of pieces from Aeropostale. Occasionally, pieces from Topshop, Express, Urban, and Nordstrom would make an appearance. Most of my money was invested in handbags and shoes so clothes were not something I normally spent a lot of money on for one piece. However, over the growth of my personal style and lots of poorly manufactured clothes later, I decided that it was time to start really investing in staple pieces as I have stated in previous posts.

Check out this Vlog to see what I scored with links to all of the items below. Don't forget to comment your feedback below and leave suggestions for future posts! :)

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend was spent in Lavallette, NJ at the beach, finally soaking up the sun with my boyfriend and his family. Saturday was pretty cloudy so the beach was empty, perfect opportunity to shoot an outfit for Aeropostale. I forgot what it was like to walk on the sand. It's been such a long winter that just thinking about tanning and going into the water was a dream. Luckily, Sunday was beautiful and I actually got to lay out for a bit and catch some color!

For this look, I paired a simple white top with floral print high-waisted shorts both from Bethany Mota's Collection. Of course, with it being a little chilly along the shore, I threw my Aritzia jacket over it. Read more to get the details of this look and shop similar items below!

Classic Army Jacket

I have a new found love for Aritzia and I can't believe it's taken me this long to fall in love with all the pieces that the store has to offer. Maybe it's me maturing and finally deciding it's time to graduate from mostly shopping at Forever 21 and H&M. Or maybe, it's because of doing so well at work that spending over $20 for basic tops doesn't seem as ridiculous as it used to be. I'm not saying that I will never shop at H&M or Forever 21 because they do have great pieces too! I just meant that investing in staple pieces is essential in a wardrobe, if it's going to last longer than a few washes, it's definitely worth it. If it can be worn for many seasons and will never go out of style, I don't mind paying for something that will be worth it in the long run!

After getting all my grades in for the spring semester, I decided that I deserved to treat myself. I went shopping in SoHo on Thursday and got a little carried away at Aritzia, Topshop, Zara, and Bloomingdales, not to mention my online shopping at Target and Nordstrom because of all the sales going on for this weekend... #SorryNotSorry. The weather hasn't been as warm as I would like it to be for May and I was definitely in need of replacing my old Abercrombie & Fitch jacket from the 8th grade... A reliable military jacket is something that I know will be usable for many more seasons to come. Read more to get the details of this casual look with two of my new pieces from Aritzia.

Saint Laurent Sac De Jour

Today, I'm going to be reviewing one of my most favorite bags, the Small Saint Laurent Sac De Jour. It seems as though Hedi Slimane has definitely taken YSL to a more modern and youthful feel ever since dropping Yves from the name. The minimalistic and simple design of the new pieces definitely reflect a more modern edge while still producing such classic pieces. I fell in love with the Sac De Jour immediately. This bag was the perfect size to use as an everyday bag and I thought of it as something subtle yet it still seemed to make a statement. Paisley, Please

I'm officially on summer vacation! I just presented my Italian Restaurant Design project today and I couldn't be happier! I hope everyone had a great semester. As for summer plans, the only thing I've got going on is work and hopefully some little adventures with my friends here and there.

As for this look, I'm stepping out of my leggings and jeans comfort zone and pairing these paisley pants with a crisp white top. This season especially, color is what seems to be grabbing everyone's attention and I think it's safe to say that these particular pants make a statement. I always try to pair something patterned with something plain and simple. Mixing prints are definitely doable but I'll attempt that some other time because these trousers deserve all the attention right now. While shopping with my best friend, we saw these pants and I tried them on just for fun. It's been months since I've had these but I never got a chance to wear them. But here they are! Eyelets & Levis

Yesterday was spent in Sandy Hook, New Jersey with my boyfriend and his family for a little bike riding through the park and a barbecue in the picnic area. For the occasion, I paired this cute eyelet crop top that I scored at Nordstrom on sale and these high-waisted Levi's from Aritzia. For a little fun in the sun, I opted for my more casual attire. Since I was going to be riding my cruiser through the park, denim shorts and a lightweight top seemed to be a good idea. If I'm dressing down, my Céline Trio is almost always my bag just because it's so easy to carry and you can't go wrong with a red crossbody. These plain crisp white and blue denim outfits always need a "pop of color." And what's a casual day without my reliable white Converse Chuck Taylor's?

Read more to shop this look and get all the other details about this outfit! I've got links to the exact pieces I'm wearing plus a GREAT alternative to the Céline Trio. If you're on a budget, definitely check out this red crossbody with two zipper compartments from Barney's. Who doesn't love a good steal?

All-White and All Right

When given the opportunity to shoot at a beautiful loft in New York City, you take it without hesitation. I was thrilled to get a chance to take photos in Aeropostalé's new summer collection. Their pieces have incorporated so many of the current styles such as colorful prints, crop tops, things that are flattering, fun, and trendy. It's so refreshing to see pieces like this after knowing what the clothing used to be many years ago when I roamed around my local mall. Aeropostalé has come a long way and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of such an amazing company. Shop this look below and read more as I share my experience at this beautiful loft with you all!

Christian Louboutin Pigalle

I thought I would do a #TuesdayShoesday mini post! These were a gift from the boyfriend, well half, and I paid for the other half. These are my third pair of Christian Louboutin heels, something I never thought I'd be able to say. I dreamed of owning just one but I'm so fortunate for the work opportunities I have been given to work and save up enough to keep my shoe collection growing! These are the Pigalle 120mm in nude, a color extremely difficult to find in ones size. I was fortunate enough to find them at the boutique on Madison Ave, the last ones in New York City at the time.

The Pigalle is one of the signature styles by Christian Louboutin, who is actually my school's commencement speaker for this years graduating class! But anyways, back to the shoes. They're extremely elegant and classic, however they do pinch your feet a little. If you're iffy about splurging, I hope this helps you with your decision. Shop this piece below and read more for other details about the Pigalle.

Technicolor Cover Up

I promised myself that I would include more colors to my wardrobe, and I did! Sunday was absolutely beautiful and my family got together to celebrate Mother's Day at my sister's house. For the occassion, I paired together a simple black tank and some simple black shorts with the newest addition to my closet, this colorful cover up. I love being able to add color/prints to an achromatic outfit, it just gives the it a little something extra, don't you think?

Casual in Chanel & Céline

It's safe to say yesterday's weather was a bit all over the place. In the morning it was incredibly sunny, hot, and beautiful. Suddenly, out of nowhere, it began to pour and I was so upset that I may not be able to photograph for the blog. I just got a new lens for my camera, a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and I was looking forward to taking it out on a test shoot. Luckily, the rain only lasted about an hour and the sun began to shine again. Yesterday was a good break from a hectic work/school week. With finals going on, I have barely any time to just relax and enjoy.

It was a lazy Saturday so I kept my look pretty casual for the day. Continue reading to get the details of this look and links to shop these pieces at the end. I hope you enjoy!

YSL Lipsticks

Let's get one thing straight, I hated wearing lipstick. I found it annoying, it dried my lips, I just couldn't get into wearing lipstick every day. Maybe it's just because I couldn't find "the one." It wasn't until about a year ago, when one of my closest friends suggested that I try the YSL Lipsticks. I purchased my first one, "Pink In Paris" and I was immediately hooked.

Summer On My Mind

As a part of Aeropostale's Style Council, I put together this look as a relaxed outfit that I would wear on a casual summer day. After the winter we've had here in New York, I'm dying for warm weather! (And a tan!) Aeropostale's pieces have come a long way since I was younger, just roaming around the mall after school, seeing monkeys and ducks on their shirts... no. Those "dark ages" of fashion are long gone! They're definitely a lot more fashion forward and I'm so glad that they're catering to an older audience nowadays, college guys and girls that keep up with what's trending and what's in style. It's not just for young teenage girls anymore, but there are multiple pieces that I have found to be staple pieces in my wardrobe. What I love about Aeropostale is that there are pieces for every style which I'm sure you'll see just by looking at their Instagram!

#ThrowbackThursday

I'm taking it back a few weeks to one of my favorite casual outfits. Considering how I was knee deep in work at the time and the blog wasn't one of my priorities, I never got the chance to do a post about this outfit. This was taken about four weeks ago, soon after I had just purchased my Celine Trio.

My Interior Design Studio class was on a little field trip in midtown, looking at restaurants to find inspiration for our restaurant design project. After the trip, my friends and I wandered towards Greenwich Village. Read more to get the details of this look.

How I Instagram // iPhone Set-Up

I'm definitely on Instagram a lot more than I should be. I think I got the app NYE, right before 2012. So, in two years, I've accumulated a number of followers that I never thought I could have. When I post, I think of framing it, the colors, and for the most part, I always prefer to photograph in natural daylight. My posts are taken with my iPhone, with the exception of vacation/event photos that were probably taken with my SLR. Read more to see what apps I use and how I plan out my photos. I've also included how my phone is currently set up.

Balayage Hair // Hair Care Routine.

So about two and a half weeks ago, I took the plunge with my hair. After a while, I got tired of it so I decided that I needed to switch things up. It was either cut my hair short or ombré it. After doing a lot of research, I realized that I see so many bad ombré jobs that I wanted to make sure my hair would turn out nicely. I really wanted the colors to blend well and too many times, I have seen someone go straight from a dark color directly into blonde as if it was dip-dyed. Balayage seemed to be the right choice for me.

Read more to check out the photos during my coloring process and how my hair looks now. :)

Balayage (verb): A free form high lighting technique. Usually a powder lightener is used to paint individual strands of hair. This technique can offer a more natural look to highlighting hair by doing away with the more uniform foiling process. Balayage is the technique that is used to achieve ombré hair color.

Marc By Marc Jacobs Watch Family

Growing up, I was never much of a watch person. I found them annoying to wear or I'd be too lazy to put one on everyday. It probably wasn't until college that I wore a watch every single day. A watch has now become a necessary accessory for me, and over the years, I have accumulated quite a collection.

Read more to see my three favorite watches to wear.
